My approach...
So what is Counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy that gives you the opportunity to discuss your thoughts and feelings in a respectful and safe environment. I am passionate about working through the challenges and issues that life can bring. Together, we can explore your feelings to gain understanding and to promote self-discovery. I work with an integrative approach, which is based on a humanistic, person-centred model, where the therapeutic relationship is key, one based on respect that builds trust. This means that I am led by you and work at your pace. As we work, I integrate various other approaches such as psychodynamic and existential, suiting them to your needs. I believe in the core values of acceptance, congruence and empathetic understanding. As your counsellor I will provide a confidential, respectful and non judgemental place for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Counselling Sessions
Each session lasts 50 minutes and we will usually meet once a week. Our first session will be an assessment session, where we will complete a short questionnaire and decide if we want to work together. Should this be agreed then an initial contract of six sessions would usually be offered, followed by a review of our work together. If considered appropriate, we can then continue meeting on a weekly basis until such time as you decide that our work together is complete.
